From data to AI: the new scope of the risk manager in 2020

Artificial intelligence started as an academic discipline more than 60 years ago. Now thanks to advances in computer power, big data and increased theoretical understanding, it is moving into mainstream business applications. This development has many implications for the risk manager from its ethical implications to its potential value in analysing risk information and identifying opportunities for innovation.

This session will clearly aim for the future by considering how AI will change the practice of the profession. Will it, for instance, help transform ERM by producing more refined analyses of exposures and allowing better allocation of resources? Data quality will be a crucial issue.
