He established his own company, MAO Risk Consulting, in March 2016 to offer consultancy on Risk Management and complex Insurance solutions to support enterprises on topics such as Enterprise Risk Management, Risk Engineering, Alternative Risk Transfer, Implementation of complex insurance programs, RM training and culture. Since July 2017, MAO joined forces with PCA, the brokerage company of Gavio Group, to offer Risk Management services to PCA’s clients as well as to the market, until the creation, in July 2019 of Augustas Risk Services, a separated company controlled by Gavio Group and fully dedicated to Risk Management consultancy and services.
He holds a degree in Engineering and he started his career in the world of Risks in 1988 at Pirelli Group, where he covered various positions until becoming in 2002 Director of Group Risk Management.
He has been and is very active in the professional associations at Italian and international level; he has been a member of the Italian association ANRA since 1992, and a member of the board of ANRA between 1995 and 2005. At FERMA (European Federation), he has been Secretary General from 1996 to 99 and President from 99 to 2001. At IFRIMA, the Worldwide Federation, he has been a member of the board from 1999 to 2006, president from 2002 to 2004 and chairman from 2004 to 2006.
Currently, besides his work at Augustas Risk Services, he’s scientific advisor and head of education at ANRA; in this role he developed “ALP” a Risk Management modular course, first RM course in Europe to obtain the accreditation as learning path to achieve the European Professional RM certification RIMAP. He was also instrumental in developing “RIFT” a three day course of intensive rehearsal and clarifications on the contents of RIMAP “Body of knowledge” to give to candidates the best possible preparation to pass the RIMAP exam.
