The European Forum for Risk and Insurance professionnals
Richard Renner, Managing Director, Perseus
Why is Perseus participating at a European risk management event important for you?
Perseus is one of the leading German providers for cybersecurity services and helps both, enterprises and insurances, to reduce their risks. It is known that cyber risk management starts with the prevention of real threats, which includes a certain level of awareness and technical protection. In consequence, people have to realise that cybersecurity is more than just having a firewall and antivirus software. FERMA is the perfect platform to share our knowledge and experience from our daily work and exchange new ideas with other risk management experts.
What does “Aim for the future” mean to you?
For many enterprises digitisation is rather a challenge than an advantage. The aim for future companies is to easily focus on their core business and make use of new opportunities. This goes hand in hand with a new kind of sustainable responsibility from data protection to IT security.
You will be presenting at the “Don’t let a supply chain open the doors to cyber criminals” workshop during the Forum, what would you like the audience to remember after your intervention?
Cybersecurity should not only be about reducing the most obvious security weakness, but it should also be about strengthening the chain as a whole. No matter the size of a company or if it is the first or last part of the supply chain – every company has the potential to be a door opener for cyber criminals. We would like our audience to keep in mind that each company must be a gatekeeper and should block cyber threats from entering the system, in order to secure others.
