The European Forum for Risk and Insurance professionnals
Suki Basi, Managing Director, Russell Group
Why is participating in a European risk management event important for you?
For the past two years we have been working with UK based risk professionals to develop an innovative solution that will help them identify and manage both risk and opportunity from their connected exposure – but our solution has a truly global focus. The FERMA Forum is the ideal environment for us to share our ideas, meet like minded individuals and to understand the broader European perspective.
What does “Aim for the future” mean for you?
For me, it is empowering decision makers with the knowledge to make decisions and set strategy in a fast-changing world. This naturally requires a combination of data, powerful analytics, AI and other emerging technologies, but most of all it requires a deep understanding of the connections a business has and relies upon to achieve its aims. The future for business is all about connectivity on every level.
You will be presenting at the “Soft & Tech Hub”, what would you like the audience to remember after your session?
The key takeaway message for me is that risk professionals need to view their organisations from an “outside-in” perspective and connect the enterprise better so that opportunity and risk management are embedded functions. This will enable business to thrive in the connected digital age.
We are in the middle of our journey to develop our solution and so I will welcome feedback and ideas from the audience, but more importantly I will also be looking for risk managers to work with us to help achieve something that will benefit the profession and industry as a whole.
